2 weeks and counting!

Life has taken on a bit of a normal routine now.  Justin has gone back to work, with his normal schedule.  And Jayce and I are falling into our own little schedule.  Or should I say I'm falling into Jayce's schedule, keeping him fat, happy, and well rested.

Jayce is starting to say awake for longer periods of time during the day now.  Becoming much more alert and inquisitive of the world around him. And he is starting to share a number of new expressions with us, though I'm not sure how many of them he's actually aware he's making.  When he does start to get tired, he fights it more than he used to, he just doesn't want to miss out on anything!  Unfortunately that means that he has been a tad bit fussy lately, but all in all, he's still a super good baby, very chill.
Monday Jayce had a Dr's appointment for his newborn screen.  He slept right through the heal prick, I was thoroughly impressed.  But then again, I shouldn't be surprised considering how much his dad sleeps through (Justin has yet to hear him crying at night).  Afterwards we wanted to get and enjoy the weather, before it hits 100 this weekend, so we met up with Grandma Karen and went walking in the park.  Jayce wasn't much of a conversationalist, choosing to sleep through most of it, but I like to think he enjoyed the walk too.  At 1:50, during the walk, we celebrated Jayce's 2 week birthday, and then Jayce added to the celebration by pooping and wanting lunch, man do babies know how to party!

Tuesday Jayce and I drove into work so I could show him off to my friends there.  He seemed pretty content being passed around and fawned over.  We even took a stroll downtown with some of them for some frozen yogurt (the owners of the yogurt shop were also in love with Jayce, but who wouldn't be - They had watched me grow bigger each week, as the trip to the yogurt shop happened fairly regularly, once every week or two, depending on the flavors of the day.

Today is going to be a quite day so I can try and get the clothes folded and the house back in order.  But if the clothes are the only thing that gets done, I'll be happy.  The house will get clean sometime this week, clearly not worried about it.  I have way too much fun watching my little man sleep, and holding staring contests with him (and taking pictures when I can, so enjoy the pics!).

Check back this weekend, I should have the pictures from his newborn photo shoots with Alex by then, and hope to get them uploaded ASAP to share (plus then I'll be able to get cracking on his birth announcements)
