Pumpkin patch!

So for the bulk of the week I was in survival mode.  Little miss was in the throws of her second Wonder Week.  Because of this, she was 10 times fussier than normal for about three days.  It also meant that I could not get her to nap on her own to save my life.  So all of her naps for three days were in my arms, and therefore absolutely nothing got done around the house, and there were very few pictures taken until this weekend.

For the most part, Jayce did awesome through this phase, even if mommy couldn't give him as much time and attention that he usually desires.  Hopefully this week we will be able to get back to our routine and the house will be happier and function better...

On a similar note, little miss is still doing pretty good with her tummy time, and is starting to get stronger.  She is exhibiting more head control and starting to turn her head towards new sounds (part of that second mental leap/wonder week).  Still getting lots of social smiles and more interactions with her too.  She likes to mimic us when we stick our tongue out at her (or at least I like to think she's mimicking us).

Saturday Justin took off of work and we took a family trip to the pumpkin patch!  We drove up to Dewey-Humbolt and visited the Mortimer Family Farm.  Overall Jayce had a blast (unless you count the minute we put him in the bounce house - he screamed the whole time....it was empty except for him and Justin).  By and far his favorite part was the petting zoo.  He loved feeding the sheep and goats.  It was so much fun, he went in twice while we were there.

Daddy took Jayce into the corn maze so he could run "free" without too much fear of being trampled by other people, while Ash and I hung out in the shade watching the kids try to ride the sheep and/or calf.  After that we attempted some festive pictures, but Jayce was wanting to do anything by sit still....so these were the best we got...

Jayce and I rode the barrel train too.  He picked out a barrel that was painted like a cow, and then proceeded to "moo" for the whole ride (his "moo" sounds more like "mmmm", but hey, he's got the right idea).  He was fine sitting on his own in a barrel for about 2 minutes, but unfortunately we were parked for longer than that and he wanted me to sit with him....those barrels are not cut out for adults...but hey, I'd do anything for our kiddos.

"mmmmmmm"
We also took a hay ride through the pumpkin patch, and Farmer Buzz was kind enough to snap a few family pictures for us (and yes, Ash is there, but since she was sleeping, I left her bundled in the carrier)

And we were given a few minutes to wander around and snap additional pictures and/or pick out pumpkins before returning to the main area of the farm.  Little man has learned to say "cheese" (or "chee" to him), and he does so with the cheesiest grin on his face...love him to bits!

After returning to the farm it was back to the car, to feed Ash, change diapers, buy a pumpkin, and head home.  Considering we left the farm around 2 and J hadn't napped yet, he was doing good.  Wish I could say the same for once we got home.  He only slept about 30 minutes of the 1 hour 15 min drive...so things got touchy at home.

Like me, when J gets tired, he gets loopy and silly (before having a complete and utter meltdown, him not me - it wouldn't be socially acceptable for me to have the meltdowns my son is capable of).   Pre-meltdown, J had a blast flopping all over daddy....

With all of the excitement from yesterday, and the disruption of his nap and sleep schedule, he was up rather early this morning, and he was not happy about it.  Justin left for work and within 15 minutes he was entering meltdown mode.  Since it was barely 930, we got dressed and went to the grocery store to diffuse the situation.  Came home, had lunch, and he was napping by 1130.  Needless to say we did not make it to church (it would not have been pretty if we had).  After nap time it was more playing and working on getting Ash back on her sleep/nap routine and getting her to fall asleep on her own again.

I have hopes for a smooth week this week, and a super fun Halloween!  Can't wait to dress the kiddos up!!!  PS, we are now slowly introducing a cup to J man.  As in a normal drinking cup.  He has the general idea, but the execution isn't perfect yet.  We will be sticking to just small amount of water in them for now...water doesn't stain ;)

Love to you all, have a Happy Halloween!!!
