One…DOOOO….Three!

We have finally have Little Man answering the question "how old are you?".  His answer?  "I know.  DOOOO".  I love it.  He tries to hold his fingers up to show two, but really just ends up fanning out all five fingers before shoving it into your face to help him make the "peace" sign to show 2.

He is also showing a basic understanding that 2 comes after 1.  For example: he doesn't immediately sit down in the bath tub.  I tell him "I'm going to count to three, then I will take you out, and bath time is over.  One" he says "DOOOO" then sits down.  Or at Grandma's: stealing a Hershey kiss from the candy jar I say "only one before dinner bud".  He response with "DOOO?" and gives me his best smile and deepest dimples…Sorry bud, that doesn't work on mommy anymore.

Little Miss is still all over the place.  She is cruising along furniture, and starting to let go and try to stand free of aid, working on her balance.  Frightening to say the least.  On top of it all, at Grandma's this week, she managed to figure out how to crawl up AND down the one step she has from the entry way to the rest of the house.  Maybe this week I'll see what she can swing on the big stairs here...

Summer is essentially here, and we've been trying to soak up every last drop of fun.  We've been to the splash pads here in the neighborhood, as well as Grandma's pool.  I think soon, we are going to try to hit up one of the big splash pads at the outdoor shopping centers.

Little Man loves talking on the phone.  The kicker, he only talks listens to the prerecorded person telling us how many voicemails we have on the phone.  He knows exactly which buttons to push, in which order, and how many time, to get the voice to talk.  Then he puts the phone to his ear and listens (even though this comes through the speaker phone part).

This morning started out well, and then the day went downhill from there.  Somewhere in the course of the morning, Little Man developed a fever.  Nothing extremely noticeable before nap time aside from a general lack of interest in food and asking to go "night night" sat 1130.  So I tucked him in and let him sleep.  He woke up with a fever of 101 and a general yucky disposition.  So Little Miss and I played and Little Man just chilled on the couch watching Frozen.  Over and Over again.  The fever dropped with medication, but came back with a vengeance before bedtime.  So he got more medicine, and lots of loves from me and Justin.  Hopefully he can sleep this off.  A sick little boy is no fun.

Plus, I'm not sure how much more Frozen I can take.  I mean, its a great movie and all, but I can now recite the vast majority of it from heart, and the songs are on repeat in my head. All. Day. Long.  I need to see if we have Lion King in our collection.  I bet he'd like that with all the animals and the songs (we are big on movies with songs lately).  If not, I need to find it ASAP…we I need something new STAT

Hopefully we have better news to report next week.  I'll leave you with my new favorite video of our crazy little girl.
