Much of this week has been spent preparing for our weekend visitors! And I think the kids sensed something big was coming, because J was a little more difficult when it came to bed time….and many nights we would find him like this - having fallen asleep playing with his toys.
Regardless of the preparations here, the kids still enjoyed the week. We made (home-made) pizza for dinner one night, and the kids enjoyed watching it cook
While both kids to play independently most of the time, it always leaves me in awe when they manage to play together without fighting over everything. I love those little moments.
Friday afternoon Grandpap, Uncle Travis and Uncle Dillon flew in for a visit. And the kids have enjoyed every second they have spent with them this weekend! (and I think we are all in for a rude awakening when they fly home tomorrow…it's going to be a sad day with many a melt down - from more than one of us)
Saturday we all enjoyed a breakfast together then spent the most of the day outside playing in the backyard.
After naps we headed out into the greenbelt for some pictures and play before dinner.
After dinner we put a fire in the fire pit, roasted marshmallows and made s'mores and just enjoyed the evening outside.
This morning all the boys went golfing, so the kids and I headed over to Grandma's for some pool time (the kids were quite upset to wake up and discover the house was empty; so rather than dealing with many melt downs, I diverted their attention and we all survived with smiles to spare).
After naps, it was back outside for the afternoon while the Narry men soaked up every last ray of sunshine they could - apparently they are headed back into some snow, so can you blame them?
We have thoroughly enjoyed having the boys visiting us this weekend, and are very sad to see them leave, but are definitely looking forward to our trip out there this summer to see them - the kids are going to LOVE it! Thanks for a memorable weekend guys! We love you!
