Beating the heat

We made it back to the water park this week.  While we only stayed an hour (after which J was asking to go home….pretty sure it was because he had to go potty, and refuses to go potty on the potty or in his swim diaper…only in a regular diaper) we still managed to have a lot of fun.

The rest of the week was spent playing around and running errands.  We made it over to Grandma's a few times this week, mostly to save mama's sanity.  And Thursday was extra special in that Justin gave me "the morning off" so I could get some crocheting done, so he took over kid duty while I holed up in our bedroom with Netflix, coffee, my hooks and yarn.  Between Thursday and the nap times/night times throughout the rest of the weekend I managed to get a lot of skirts made for the craft fair (in November) which puts me in a good spot to spend August and September on hats and scarfs and boot cuffs while still being able to enjoy the first few months with baby (I have a goal of 3 items a week once baby arrives, and I should be doing okay as for inventory).

Friday after naps we tackled some back-to-school shopping.  Or in our case, starting school shopping.  While J's list isn't super long, there were a few items we needed to purchase, and wanted to do so before baby arrived so that in case baby throws a wrench into my plans to take J to his first day of school, everything is ready for Grandma to do so…

We spent this morning over at Grandma's swimming in her pool…in between several temper tantrums.  I'm not sure if the kids sense that the baby will be arriving sooner rather than later, or what the deal is, but both have been super attached to me, and fighting over every little thing imaginable.  Not going to lie, it has made this week very difficult for me, emotionally, mentally, and physically.  And there are many times I found myself doubting my abilities to parent these two kiddos, let alone adding a third to the mix.  I know things will work out, and we will have to take it day by day, and that we have to take it day by day now…but man I'm beat.

And in baby news, I finished the nursery.  Got the mobile hung, and it turned out better than I had hoped it would (though still not perfect…I'm thrilled with the end result).  It's hard to grab a decent picture, but there are birds sitting on the tree branches, and butterflies floating under the leaves.

In the home stretch, and every day wondering how much longer until we meet this little nugget.  I'm torn between wanting that day to come, and savoring these last few days/weeks of this last pregnancy.  The summer heat and over all whale-ish-ness I've been feeling haven't been helping with the latter too much.

Any last guesses?  Boy or Girl?  Birth date?
