What a week! We have progressed so far with B and his sleep! He now (usually) goes to sleep in under 10 min with little to no assistance from us! WOO HOO! He also is sleeping through the night most nights, with the help of a few dream feeds. We are working on dropping one of them, however he's also teething so it's throwing a bit of a wrench in everything - not sure if the early morning wake ups are from hunger or pain - we are holding steady and waiting a few days to see what happens.
We managed a little walk/bike ride me and the kiddos this week. While A is great at peddling her trike, and J on his bike…both need assistance going up hills. And there are quite a few in our neighborhood. Can I just tell you how difficult it is to push one child up a hill on a bike while pushing a stroller - or chasing a child who's rolling down hill on a bike backwards…ugh. Needless to say we ended the walk early with a stop at one of the play grounds.
Bathtime has taken on a new form of fun around here too with the addition of glow sticks! Thank you Oriental Trading for selling them in bulk!
With El Nino, Flagstaff has been getting pounded with snow…so on Friday Grandma and I took the kids north to play in it! We had checked the weather the day before and they were expecting snow in the afternoon. However when we arrived it was snowing fairly heavily (for Flagstaff). We went straight for the sledding hills. J had a blast, and wanted to keep going and going and going - that is until it was time to climb back up the hill; which was a little difficult for him. A, on the other hand, was less than happy out in the snow. Though, I'm thinking part of it was her jacket - which is from last year, and still technically fits, but is a little short in the arms. That coupled with the mittens that were too big, her little forearms ended up exposed a lot and the mittens took on some snow, so her hands were quite cold. B, was unimpressed but generally happy as long as he wasn't in the sling - I think with all his layers the sling was just uncomfortable.
J also discovered that he could pull his head nearly all the way inside his jacket for protection from snowballs (a jacket that unlike A's is too big for him…we bought it large intentionally to try and get more than one winter's use out of it…cause you know we need winter coats so frequently around here)
The rest of the weekend has been pretty low key.
Though I did finish miss A's blanket and she couldn't be happier. J's blanket is next…a shark tail blanket.
Take that Sunday!
See you next week!
