6 months!

And then some!

So we had our 6th month well-baby check up.  Jayce is weighing in at 16lbs 14.5oz (38%), and 27" tall (70%).  I feel like he weighs so much more than that though (or at that he doubles in weight by the end of the day).  He certainly is getting big though!  And so full of personality, it's amazing.  He's rapidly becoming a little boy.  This journey is so exciting and fun to watch, as he discovers new things in the world (current favorite is empty water bottles), but it is also a little sad in my heart - my baby is growing up...and fast!

Let's see, what have we done recently?

  • The Phoenix FD kindly installed some new car seats into our vehicles.  He hadn't quite outgrown the old infant carrier yet, however he has "outgrown" the carrier part (meaning he is far to heavy for mom to be lugging around inside the carrier).
  • Jayce and I attended a Picnic for Aunt Alex and Uncle Alan, and celebrated their amazing news.  Yay Bagleys!  Congrats!
  • Jayce spent a Saturday in Prescott with Aunt Shannon and his cousins while mommy went with Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Faye to Jerome for some baby free time, and wine!
  • Jayce is doing great on sitting on his own.  He can now sit for several minutes before he gets super excited over something (water bottles usually) and looses his balance and tumbles.
Other than that we've been just hanging around and pretending to clean the house.  :-)

We are looking at another plane trip for us.  We will be traveling back to Chicago in the relatively near future to see the family, and Grandpa.  He isn't doing so well, so any extra prayers you have, please be sending them that way.

Jayce had his surgery this morning.  He is doing as well as can be expected.  He is still a little "drunk" from the anesthesia, and we are trying to manage his pain for him, though I must say it isn't that easy when he can't verbalize the problem.  We are currently waiting on one last medication from the pharmacy that should help a bunch.

Hope you are all doing well. We'll post again when things settle down, and we start taking pictures again...Hopefully soon!

  2. He is getting SOOO big!! I'm glad the surgery went well. Poor little guy. I'm sure he will be feeling better before you know it. Can't wait to see you all on Friday. I'll be sure to have a few empty water bottles on hand...
