We caved, and gave Jayce his "big" birthday gift from us on Thursday. Mostly because it was a gift for us too. Little man gets a bit fussy in the afternoons pre-dinner, and this is just enough to keep him happy and entertained while we cook or relax ourselves. We got him a water table! He wasn't quite sure what to make of it at first, but after five minutes or so, he was splashing around like a pro. He loves throwing the water around the backyard with the cup and throwing the balls into the spiraling tower.
This weekend was a pretty quiet one, with the exception of Easter Sunday. It was a great day, gorgeous outside. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Jayce woke up rather early (will have to remember to ask the pediatrician, but I think he might have had a nightmare; woke up screaming bloody murder, and was immediately comforted when I picked him up, and just wanted to cuddle), then cuddled in bed with mommy till her alarm went off for Easter mass. He was a joy during the mass, even though it was VERY apparent that he was exhausted by the end. He fell asleep almost immediately after clipping him into his carseat (which proceeded to become a 45 minute nap as we sat in the parking lot waiting for the Easter throngs of people to figure out how to leave). We continued napping at home, albeit briefly. Then it was up and over to Grandmas where we played some more, hunted for Easter eggs, hid the eggs for Grandma to find, then had another short nap. Early dinner, and back home for bath time with Daddy, and bed. It was a loooong day for Mr. Jayce man, but overall he was a fairly charming little man

Friday Auntie Stacie, Grandpap, and Uncle Chris all fly in for the big shin-dig. Papa and Grandma Suzanne are already here. There's going to be lots of love and fun this weekend!
Stay tuned for another post Wednesday with the final installment of the basket pictures *tear*, and all the one year stats from the 1-year well baby check up!!!!
