Oh my

It's crazy how fast the weeks are flying by!  Now that little man is always on the move, it seems like I can barely catch my breath any more!

we take our puzzles very seriously around here...

Tuesday I had a check up with the Dr. and the little bean seems to be doing great.  Good strong heartbeat, and measuring right on track.  I did, somehow, manage to gain ::gulp:: 6 whole pounds this past month.  How that happened I have no idea; I am claiming a baby growth spurt and that it has absolutely nothing to do with the enormous amounts of chocolate and sweets that I can't keep myself from consuming.  Looks like I'll have to be stocking the house with more "nutritional" sweets like fruit to try and curb the sugar intake...Though, all told, that only puts my total weight gain at around 12-13 lbs so far (a far cry from the ~25 lbs I had gained with Jayce at this point; yes, with him I pretty much gained a lb a week from day one...gah).  Ready for the irony; we celebrated a good check up with the doctor, with a dinner of sliced strawberries and dark chocolate chip pancakes (note: this was not a requested meal by me, but rather what Justin felt like cooking; but I was not going to complain).  It was fabulous, and Jayce loved it too!

The remainder of the week has been trying to spend some quality time as a family, with our abbreviated time together (thanks to opposite work schedules), and trying to stay cool, while still having fun.  We have been making use of the water table, and Jayce has been helping Justin with watering the grass (the really likes the hose, so long as he's not getting wet).

Saturday we even braved the heat and took Jayce to the playground at the end of the block for some climbing fun.  And we may have scarred him for life by sending him down the slide.  He wasn't a fan; but don't worry, we only did it twice (had to make sure he really didn't like it), and he was all smiles at the bottom when he ended up in my arms - it was the initial drop he wasn't crazy about.

And let's be honest, the weekend isn't complete with some fun in the ball pit!!!

In other Jayce news; we are officially 100% off of bottles! All mil and water is now being served (and drunk) from a sippy cup!!! He's a little boy through and through, no more baby!  And we are starting to get decipherable words out of him!  Jayce is now saying "mama", "dada", "dah" (which is Jayce for dog; he always says this before attacking Gunnar or Gonchar; or when pointing to dogs out and about), "hi" (usually accompanied by a wave; always to himself, not who he's saying hi to; too cute), and making monkey noises.
