May got off to a bang this week! Monday was low key around the house. Little Man woke up with a fever again, so that killed our original plans of going to the zoo. So we hung around and watched more movies, and just chilled. His morning dose of Tylenol brought his fever back to normal, and it was still gone when he woke up from his nap.
After his nap, he decided he was healthy again, and wouldn't settle for just milk. No. He wanted chocolate milk. He then proceeded to sob and scream and throw a temper tantrum of epic proportions for 45 minutes. No, this mama did not cave in. Instead, I took pictures. And video. I then proceeded to email the video of him screaming to the email account I created for him…so 18 years from now (assuming he's able to play the video at that time), he will be able to see his 2-year old self throwing a temper tantrum because I am a mean mom who won't let a sick little boy have chocolate milk (and lets not kid ourselves, I texted it to Justin too, so he could see what fun he was missing out on while he was at work).
Said tantrum ended about the time Justin walked in from work (funny how that works), and it was like this little boy was never sick. His temperature was starting to creep back up, but it didn't seem to bother him. He proceeded to try and ride Gunnar - who, by the way, wasn't interested in playing horse.
Tuesday I worked, and Wednesday we hung around the house aside from random errands that needed to be run. We did take the kids to the park though. Little Man had a blast going down the slides, and eventually demanded that Little Miss go down the slide with him. Eventually sliding down the slide wasn't enough for her, and she spent the last 30 minutes trying to climb up the slide. No matter how many times she fell, it didn't deter her…I predict she will be our climber, and the one that gets into and onto everything.
Thursday after work was business as usual, with the kids playing and running around the house. It's so amazing to watch the two of them grow up together. As Little Miss is getting older and more active/interactive, the two of them are playing with each other much more. Little Man spends more time crawling down on the floor trying to get Little Miss to chase him. Or he shares his cars and trucks with her trying to get her to play with him. It's awesome to see the friendship grow between them.

Friday was a pretty special day here in the house. I came home from work and soaked up as much time with the kids as I could, then it was DATE NIGHT for me and Justin. Uncle Allen came over to babysit! ALONE!!!
I must say, he did a FABULOUS job!!! We may have found ourselves a new babysitter!!!! Both kids were in bed and asleep when we got home, and both slept later than they usually do the next morning (though that can be attributed to a later than normal night, I'm sure). Allen survived, and said it was "easier than he thought it would be". For a frame of reference, the bedtime diapers he changed, were the first diapers he had EVER changed :) Justin and I were able to enjoy a nice dinner out with some delicious beers, a little window shopping, and a free concert in the park (complete with ice cream), while he took care of our babies. For that, Allen, we are eternally grateful.
Saturday morning, we ran a little late due to Little Man sleeping in, so we had our breakfast at Starbucks before heading to tumbling class. I don't think he minded :) Afterwards it was business as usual at home. We did manage to get to the mall for some impromptu shopping. Thanks to our neighbor who joined us (last minute), I was able to find the dress I will probably wear to Chris and Natalie's Wedding!!!
Today, Little Miss has been fighting off a fever herself. She has been a little cranky, and a little warm, but nothing a little Tylenol didn't help. She also took longer naps than normal, as well as a third cat nap. But that hasn't stopped us from having fun! During her first nap, Little Man and I built a blanket fort in the living room. He spent the better part of an hour crawling through it, destroying it, then starting over. You would think he would have napped today…but no.
After lunch, it was time for some music (apparently). Little Man had so much fun pulling different utensils out of the kitchen drawers to see what sounds they would make when banged on the metal bowl. He used metal tongs, a whisk, different sized measuring cups, wooden spoons, and plastic spoons. For about an hour, it was LOUD in the house…Maybe that's why the dogs wanted outside, and didn't ask to come back in right away….After that, we worked on our bubble blowing abilities….

I will leave you with one last picture. Its my favorite of the week. It is my entire heart captured in one moment. I love this man with my whole heart. I have for a while now. Yet when I see him with the kids, I somehow find a way to love him even more. Every. Time. I thank God every day that I found Justin. I couldn't ask for a better partner, or father to my babies. (sorry for the sappiness).
And yes, Little Man sleeps with that little dinosaur every night now. That dinosaur also gives knuckles to O and the truck and takes a final drink of milk before Little Man before they both go to sleep for the night (he gets tucked in on the pillow using the Steeler's Tiger (lovey) while Little Man is tucked in on his own pillow with his quilt...
