Staying cool

Not sure what happened, but this week I barely picked up my camera.  Took a few pictures here and there, and several on my phone, but they bulk of them were taken today.  I feel like time is moving faster and faster each day.

For the first time in a long time, A fell asleep eating.  I took the opportunity to just sit and rock her.   I look at the pictures from this week, and compared to the week she was born, she has grown by leaps and bounds.  I have thousands of pictures of the kids, and I am so thankful that I do; because when I look at them now, it's hard to remember every little bit of them when they were newborns.  They change a little bit every day, and it's bittersweet.  I love watching them learn and grown and experience what life has to offer, but it breaks my heart a little bit each day that I will never get yesterday back. They will never be that little again.  And most of all, we made them, and I grew them (which absolutely blows my mind).

We are chugging right along.  Last week J started his "Sportball" classes that he takes with Justin.  It's an introduction to basic (really basic) skills for a variety of sports.  He seems to really enjoy the class. This week Justin said they were working on different soccer skills (much to Justin's dismay).  J really liked putting his foot on top of the ball and kicking it across the room.  The overhead throws were a little difficult, depending on how far back he held the ball (if it went behind his head, when he went to throw it, it would hit is head and bounce backwards…)

A has been getting braver and braver in the walking department.  She has taken off a few times and managed 3-4 unassisted steps before getting ahead of herself or excited and losing her balance and lunging the rest of the way forward.  This happens several times a day.  Today, she decided to try to walk from the kitchen island to the opposite set of cabinets.  She almost made it too… At the rate she's going, she's going to be walking by the time she's one.

J is big into any form of transportation at the moment.  And he loves mixing them up.  Currently, his favorite toys are his pirate ship that he drives his cars and tractors into, and his Dusty Crophopper, that he uses to fly cars around with.  Watching him play like this makes me wish I knew what he was saying, the kid has an amazing imagination.

J managed to provide a 7 am wake up call for both A and myself this morning.  Which meant that her morning nap was pushed forward about an hour.  This allowed us to actually make it to church this morning!  Afterwards they both took a 2.5 hour nap, at the same time!  It was glorious!  They were in such good moods, we went outside to play in the water table.  J had a blast trying to drive his truck down the tower, and eventually took to trying to give A a mohawk.

She was less than impressed with the resulting hair-do.

After dinner it was bath time in the big bath tub.  I would love to know what these two "talk" about.  They are constantly babbling back and forth, in the tub, in the car, at the dinner table.  A is a very happy baby, and smiles and laughs regularly, but no one can get her laughing harder, or longer, than J.  I hope they continue to be this close as they grow up.  I love that they are best friends (as long as it doesn't involve sharing cars or Cherrios).

Till next week friends!
