Trying to document and cherish all the little things in life....as well as the big things.

The monkey's growing!
Jayce is growing up so fast! It seems like he changes so much day to day. Some of this feeling may be in my head, and mom-guilt for leaving him to go back to work, but I swear he is changing fast. He has developed such a great little personality, and definitely takes after Justin in that department, very mellow, taking everything around him in. In some little milestone news, Jayce is starting to hold his bottles on his own (though after the bottle throwing incident in church last week, I still hold it as well). He's great about keeping it in his mouth, but if he takes it out, or drops it, he can't quite get it back in yet...baby steps :-)
Friday after swim class, Jayce joined Grandma Karen and me out for Happy Hour, and then made his first trip to the dog park. Jayce hadn't had any real good naps all day, but was a trooper and loved playing in the water anyway. He fell asleep in the car for about 30 minutes while we picked up Grandma Karen and drove to dinner, but he was awake shortly after arriving at the restaurant. He was very good through dinner, and didn't get fussy until we were driving home (I don't think he liked being alone in the back seat). At home, we wrangled up the dogs, and loaded the car again and headed off to the dog park. The dogs needed the running to expel some of their energy. Jayce hung out (literally) in the baby carrier the entire time just taking it all in. He really enjoys the carrier now that he is big enough to face out and see everything.
Saturday was a quite day at home, it started with a walk through the neighborhood with dad and the dogs, but after that it was far too hot and humid outside to do anything. So we stayed inside watching a little bit of the Olympics, playing with all sorts of toys, and doing laundry...
Sunday after church, Grandma Suzanne was able to come by to officially meet Jayce while she was in town on a mini-vacation. Despite only having had one good nap all day, Jayce was is usual charming self. We sat and talked and even had some tummy-time/mat-time while she was here. We really have lucked out, and we have such a good baby. We love watching him grow up, and know that with the love and support of us, and all his family and friends, he will grow up to become an incredible person...
