It's cooling down; finally

This week has been a little crazy here.  I worked all week (except for the holiday) in order to have next week off, so while I managed to snag a few pictures here and there, it wasn't nearly as much (or as often) as I usually do.  On top of that, we have has some BEAUTIFUL weather lately, so we've been enjoying as much time as possible outside (and I've been trying to enjoy the time "in the moment" with the kids, rather than behind the camera since I worked more than normal).

Tuesday, we took the kids to the zoo.  This trip was a spur of the moment decision to get out of the house and enjoy the day (a day we forgot was a holiday for a lot of people).  So the zoo was super crowded, and the kids spent more time than normal strapped into the stroller.

Wednesday after work we went on a walk with some friends and took time to stop and run through the grass along the way.  While it was fun at the time; now, on every walk, the kids throw mini meltdowns at every greenbelt we pass.

The kids helped me keep an eye on dinner Friday night; and J has started to get into the holiday spirit….

This morning we went to watch Schuyler's soccer game, and enjoy the sweatshirt weather that blew in overnight.  The daytime high today was *only* 68, but with some pretty gusty winds out making the long sleeves pretty mandatory.  J didn't seem to mind; he discovered the pouch pocket and spent the day walking around with his hands in it (even refusing to take it off at "nap time")

I say "nap time" because he surely didn't nap today.  After the "nap time" was over, Justin and J spent about 15 minutes clearing out the stash of items he chucked behind his dresser - to include the entire contents of his sock, underwear, and pajama drawers, and several books.

While Justin cooked up some dinner, the kids and I burned off the last bit of energy they had at the playground.  They spent the bulk of their time on the swings (throwing the obligatory temper tantrums when forced off so other kids could use them) and slides.

Until next week loves!  We've got some big plans in store for this week, so check back soon for details and pictures!
