Sunshine and Summertime

With the start of the increasingly hot summer weather, we have been spending as much of our outside time in/around water.  It's the only way to survive lately.  The kids don't seem to mind one bit.  Monday after work, we filled the pool and went to town.

Tuesday morning, after some morning cuddles and stories with daddy, it was back outside for some swimming and water fights.

Friday afternoon, we met up with some friends at a local splash pad for a play date and pizza picnic.  Seriously, one of the best ways to end the week (and the easiest, most stress-free dinner we've had in a while).

Saturday morning, the kids and I headed out to a meeting at the church regarding an upcoming craft fair this fall - Triple Knot Studio will be sharing a booth with EEK Boutique (Etsy store opening soon) - followed by another trip to the splash pad.

After some much needed naps, we took the kids on a spur of the moment trip to the water park! Definite bonus of the season passes we purchased this year!  I'm hoping to get more than our money's worth before this baby pops out…plus, it's a great way to have fun and stay cool while still being outside.  This was the kid's second trip, and this was much more successful than the first.  J went down three slides, multiple times, that he was terrified to go down before!  Plus, we had to drag him out of the wave pool.  We also took a trip down the lazy river, but the jury is still out on that one (there are lots of water features that the kid's weren't too fond of).  A had fun splashing in the water and watching J kick butt on the slides, though I'm sure a big part of her wishes she was big enough for some of them…next year dear…next year.

Today, we managed to make it to and through church despite the AC being out (holy heck it was hot in there).  But the kids were amazingly well behaved, so I can't complain too much.  After naps, it was back outside for some home splash pad/pool time.   Perfect way to end the weekend.

That's all for this week.  I'll leave you all with this week's bump comparison pic.  And for those of you who are curious, the total weight gain is about half way between where I was with J and A at this point.  Weighing in at about 22lbs over starting weight (which was the same for all three pregnancies) - was around 29lbs (gained almost 40lbs) with J, and around 18lbs with A (gained around 30lbs).  overall I'm feeling pretty good, though still exhausted every day and have more hip pain than with the previous pregnancies.  I am overall okay with the current weight gain status, though I wouldn't complain if it started to taper off here soon…I'd like to gain closer to A's total than J's total…but this baby seems to be packing on the lbs lately (or at least that's what I'm telling myself)
