Between a whirlwind of activity at work and at home, this week has flown by, and I'm not totally sure what happened or where it went. All I know, is I hardly had my camera in hand, so the vast majority of these pictures are from the cell phone.
I will say, A has been battling a fever on and off all week, with it increasing in frequency and temperature as the week went on. I finally made an appointment at the doctor on Friday. Bad news is that she probably has a silent/small UTI (will know more Monday when the labs come back, but the quick urine dip was "suspicious"), but the good news is that it isn't viral, so we can treat this and move forward. We started antibiotics on Friday, and today was the first fever free day (knock on wood) all week, and last night (knock on wood) was the first night she has slept through since the onset of the issues. So things are looking up!
We did manage some pool time at Grandma's this week. Thursday morning we trouped over there (as a family, with dad!), and got the kids into the water. J spent most of the time in his floaties/swimmies and by the end of the day had kicked his way across the length of the pool all by himself almost a dozen times (okay, so I wasn't counting, but he kept going back and forth until we stopped him). On Friday, the kids were in the pool in the AM with Grandma while Justin and I were at work, and this time A got in on the floatie/swimmie action too, and is loving the freedom of floating solo (with an adult within an arms reach of course). The kids and I also went over there today for some swim time before naps. I must say, for having the kids by myself in the pool, having both of them in floaties/swimmies makes it soooo much easier to handle. I still have to watch them both like a hawk, don't get me wrong. On top of all that, J was jumping off and swimming to me from the steps, WITHOUT his swimmies - then he'd propel himself back to the steps. I'm so incredibly proud of how far he's come from last year's fear of the water, and how much confidence he has gained in the last few weeks/months. Hopefully by the end of the summer we will have a swimmer on our hands!
Saturday morning, the kids and I explored the Children's Museum yet again. They never tire of the place, and its a great, air conditioned, place for the kids to run free and explore and learn while we are at it.
See you next week!
